Having been active with Right to Life of Michigan for
several years and a spokesperson for the current ballot measure, I really don't
see there being any kind of permanent rift amongst pro-lifers. I've spoken at
over 30 Right to Life of Michigan affiliate events and state conferences and
I've sat on numerous RLM PAC panels for candidate interviews, so I've witnessed
first-hand how effective RLM has been in raising funds, getting pro-life
candidates elected, and lobbying for legislation to reduce the number of
abortions in
Michigan
. As a family law attorney, I've also litigated numerous cases involving the
protection of pre-born children and I see that there is much more we can do.
This is not just another issue for me to battle. I give back what I've been
given -- a right to life. My life began out of a brutal rape at knifepoint by a
serial rapist and was nearly ended at the hands of two back-alley abortionists.
The fact that it was illegal in
Michigan
at the time saved my life. This is not just a concept up for intellectual
discourse. How could a "right to choose" be worth more than the
totality of my entire existence? I'm not garbage, my life is not disposable, and
neither are the lives of the over 26,000 innocent children slaughtered in
Michigan
each year. Did you know that a "product of conception" is included in
Michigan
law under the definition of "pathological waste"? Please join me in
affirming each other's value by supporting the Pre-Natal Child Protection
Amendment. None of us is trash.
For
Life,
